The editor-in-chief asked me to make an interview of a designer in the Faire. I really don’t like doing interviews, because it requires social skills, which I lack, but a job is a job. So, here I am, at the gorgeous Nox Aeterna with the beautiful – and very tall – Tara Paxlapis-Savior. I did not recognize her at first, because I’m used to seeing an elegant lady, but today she was exploring Fairelands as a handsome male. // OOC: I will refer to her mostly as a she in this post.//

“Hello Nim!” A handsome stranger greeted me. I must have looked puzzled, because the stranger chuckled and continued. “It’s me, Tara. I just wanted to show off these male items today while taking a stroll at the Faire.
“Oh, Tara! Hi!” I greeted her with a wave. “Dang, for a moment I thought a handsome guy had taken an interested in me.” I chuckled softly. “I’m actually working here, so may I interview you for the Fairelander Press?”
“But of course, interview away.” She responded.
“Right. So would you first tell the readers of the Fairelander Press who you are?” I produced a pen and notepad from my bag and started taking notes.
“My name is Tara Paxlapis-Savior (taraaaers). I’m an Artist, using traditional and digital mediums to express my art.” She pauses to wait for me to jot down her response before she continues. “Here in Second Life, I’m a photographer, blogger, fashion stylist, model, creator and Unity Art team member. I also serve as store manager and vendor model for Arkona and supporting manager for Find the Fish and Good Fairy stores.”

I wrote down notes furiously. “Oh wow, you are a very busy bee! Our readers are always looking for new places to shop at, so I’m interested in learning more about the creator side of you.” I gave her an encouraging smile.
“Well, I’ve had my own brand, named ~TARA~*, since January 2024, although I’ve been in Second Life for good seven years already.” She chuckled softly. “My store is dedicated to making artistic bags and various stylish accessories, adding the artistic touch. I pour my passion for my creations, which are primarily featuring fantasy and ethnic designs”. Her speech got a little faster and she gesticulated enthusiastically with her hands, while I tried to keep up with my writing. “This year my store is at Misplaced Melody where I am collaborating with Good Fairy store. I welcome warmly your readers to visit our store and enjoy a beautiful sim where the music is in your soul, in your memories and in your hopes.” Suddenly her features curved into a worried frown. “Get out!”
I, too, frowned. Did I say something to offend her, or maybe I wasn’t jotting down her words fast enough.
“Move! Now!” She barked, before I had time to say anything, her hand reaching for the hilt of her blade. She shoved me aside quickly, while she leaped past me. I turned to figure out what she was doing, only to see a large group of giant spiders scurrying towards us.

Oh no, there’s so many of them, we’ll be doomed! I hastily dropped my notepad and pen to my bag and grabbed my druidic staff. Tara was already closing in on the spiders, her blade radiating a menacing blue glow. I began the incantation of barkskin spell, which covered her just on time before she reached the enemy. She started slicing the spiders into bits and pieces, while I started to utter another incantation, an entangle spell. “Tara, stay away from the vines!” I shouted a warning to her, before various weeds began to sprout from the ground. With Tara’s impressive sword-work, and a little help from my spells, we finally defeated the spiders.

We were still catching our breaths, when we heard slow clapping from the nearby bushes, and soon a short man with a camera emerged. Oh no, not him again. I cursed quietly under my breath.
“Well, well, well. You again.” Mr. Reallyhightower smirked at me, and Tara shot a puzzled glance into my way. “I gotta hand it to you, you’re a decent fighter, but your friend is just magnificent! The way he hacked through the spiders, incredible! I’m dying to make an after-battle shot of him. Well, I guess you can be in it, too, but don’t smile!”
I grumbled under my breath, waiting for more insulting remarks, but for once he said nothing more, perhaps because Tara still had her nasty glowing blade in her hand. He just took a few shots, gave us the picture and darted off.

“Who was that strange fellow?” Tara asked.
“Trust me, you don’t want to know.” I muttered grumpily, reaching for my pen and notepad anew. Once I had my journalist’s equipment in my hand, I offered her a smile. “Shall we resume the interview? Our readers would like to know how many times you have been in the Faire and what do you like about it the most?”
She chuckled softly, collecting her thoughts for a moment before responding. “I started my Fantasy Faire journey in 2022 doing personal articles, so this is my fourth Faire. I like to explore the sims, write stories of the regions and showcase the items I’ve bought from the Faire or gotten from my blog-sponsors. For the past two years, I’ve also dedicated myself to perfecting my video skills and this year I’ve made short videos of ten sims so far.” She paused speaking for a moment, a gentle smile lingering on her lips. “What do I like the most about Faire?” She contemplated for a moment, her expression blissful. “Fantasy Faire is a unique event that unites countless individuals driven by passion and creativity, providing a beautiful opportunity to help others while honoring cherished memories. The most inspiring aspect is the SPIRIT of the event, which motivates creators, builders, and fans to pursue a shared vision.” I glanced up at her with a smile on my face, while still jotting down a few notes. “Well said, my friend. Thank you so much for the interview.” I reached up to pat her shoulder.
“Anytime.” She smiled at me in response, before she sheathed her sword and went on her merry way to probably shoot some more videos. As for me, I traveled to the newspaper to transcribe my interview.
