Fantasy Faire’s open!!! Our first stop was Bassett Town (sponsored by ContraptioN and designed by Walton Wainwright). It’s a wild wild west themed town with lots of things to do and see, and of course shop! And there’s horsies everywhere! Nim suggested that we “borrow” a horse, but I figured we’d get in trouble with the sheriff, so I talked her out of it.

We did first a shopping spree, of course, and then headed to a local saloon to get wasted. The saloon had also a hotel upstairs, so at closing time we staggered into our room, planning to sleep until noon at least. Unfortunately just after the sunrise, someone was yelling “The Dalton brothers are here!! Everyone!! Grab your arms!!”

Ilyan’s taught me to shoot, so I grabbed the shotgun and rushed outside. Nim was right behind me with her axe. Despite of the early morning, quite a few people were already out, armed to their teeth. We saw no sign of the Dalton brothers, though, even we scanned everyone who passed keenly. Some quarter of an hour later we heard gunshots from the other side of the town and then the sounds of hastily departing hooves.

The danger seemed to be over, so we went back to our room to get some more beauty sleep. There’s still much more exploration left to do and we need to be well rested.

Apologies for being so late with my first Fantasy Faire 2022 on location post! Loads of RL stuff piled on me starting Thursday, so I didn’t have any spare time to do pics until today after breakfast, cause I’m kinda slow at making pics. XD
